NEW DELHI: Air India Flight on route to San Francisco from New Delhi had to make an emergency landing at Mongolia due to a technical glitch on Monday.
As per Indian media reports, a technical glitch was reported in the Air India aircraft Boeing 777 operating from New Delhi Francisco. Low quality fuel is said to be the reason for the technical glitch.
The aircraft was on bound to San Francisco via Kolkata.
According to the airline, the Boeing 777 aircraft, operating as Flight AI174 on November 2, made a precautionary landing in Ulaanbaatar and touched down safely. All passengers and crew members were reported safe, and the aircraft is currently undergoing inspection.
The airline said necessary arrangements were being made to fly the passengers to their destination once the aircraft was cleared for operation.
Since the crash of Flight AI171 from Ahmedabad to London, which claimed more than 270 lives and stunned the nation, Air India has faced turbulent skies.
In the weeks that followed, several of its flights reported mid-air technical glitches, forcing abrupt U-turns, emergency landings, and prolonged delays.
