Web desk: The no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister of AJK has succeeded. PPP’s Faisal Rathore has been elected as the new Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The oath-taking ceremony is likely to be held tomorrow for the new Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Pakistan Peoples Party’s Faisal Rathore. Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also expected to be present there during the ceremony.
The no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, was successful, after which Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore was elected as the new Prime Minister.
Faisal Mumtaz Rathore’s name was presented as the alternate leader of the house in the no-confidence motion.
Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore got 36 votes, and 2 votes were cast in opposition. This no-confidence motion was presented by Sardar Javed Ayub and Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, along with others.
PM AJK No-Confidence Motion
A no-confidence motion has been tabled against Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwarul Haq in the Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Assembly member Chaudhry Qasim Majeed tabled the no-confidence motion.
Faisal Mumtaz Rathore will be the sixteenth Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. The oath-taking of the new Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir is expected tomorrow, Tuesday.
The no-confidence motion was presented by Sardar Javed Ayub and Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, along with others. Faisal Mumtaz Rathore’s name was presented as the alternate Leader of the House in the no-confidence motion.
During the voting, Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore got 36 votes, while 2 votes were cast in opposition.
A simple majority of 27 votes was required for the success of the no-confidence motion. Chaudhry Anwarul Haq was elected Prime Minister in April 2023 with 48 votes.
Faisal Mumtaz Rathore will be the fourth Prime Minister of the current Assembly. Prime Minister Anwarul Haq has decided to face the motion instead of resigning.
PM Anwarul Haq said he had no complaints against anyone and stressed that protecting the Constitution was a shared responsibility.
Chaudhry Qasim proposed MLA Faisal Mumtaz Rathore as the alternative leader of the House. Opposition lawmakers Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi and Khawaja Farooq Ahmed also arrived in the assembly.
The House offered prayers for the martyrs of the Tatta Pani and Islamabad bomb blasts.
