AJK PM Rathore slams JAAC over public service disruptions

Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has strongly criticised members of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), accusing them of disrupting public services and undermining the state’s administrative structure.

In a message posted on X, the prime minister wrote that certain slogans and actions adopted by JAAC members reflect a strategy aimed at crippling public services and the civil administration.

He claimed that such measures are intended to intimidate the government and create the impression that the group wields greater influence than state institutions.

Rathore further accused the group of imposing lockdowns that contribute to shortages of essential supplies, including food and medicines, in affected areas. He said that despite creating these disruptions, JAAC members subsequently hold the government responsible for the resulting difficulties faced by residents.

“Their objective is to show people that they are more powerful than the State,” Rathore said, adding that such tactics should come to an end.

The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir stated that this spectacle must now come to an end, and those misleading the public should realise that their game is over. He emphasised that state institutions will continue to fulfil their responsibilities in providing public services and maintaining law and order.

He further said that the government will not tolerate any activity against the public interest, and any attempts to challenge the authority of the state will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
