Aleem Khan, Palwasha Khan trade sharp words

Palwasha Khan and Aleem Khan exchange hot war of words

ISLAMABAD: Harsh words were exchanged between Federal Minister for Communications Aleem Khan and Senator Palwasha Khan during a session of the Senate Standing Committee on Communications on Friday.

Federal Minister Aleem Khan said in the Senate that he had been accused of benefiting his housing society and described the question as a personal insult.

Senator Palwasha Khan responded that asking a question is not the same as making an accusation and asked why the minister considered it personal.

Both members leveled personal allegations against each other. The minister said, “All the dishonest people of the world have gathered in this committee,” to which Senator Palwasha Khan replied that the minister was upset over a question because he is in the wrong.

Aleem Khan added, “I will expose all your deeds in front of everyone,” while Senator Palwasha Khan said, “How dare you speak to me like this?”

Senator Palwasha Khan demanded that the committee issue a ruling on the minister’s behaviour and said that if the minister wants to comment on her personally, he may do so; otherwise, strict action should be taken against this conduct.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Communications got up from his seat and went to Senator Palwasha Khan to calm her down.

Other committee members also intervened to quiet Senator Palwasha Khan so that the session could continue.

Later talking to the media Palwasha Kahn said that she will bring this matter up before her party.
