The iPhone fans have to wait more!
The long-anticipated foldable iPhone is not coming out anytime soon as it may launch in 2027.
According to reports, hinge and design complications are the primary reasons the device is not ready for a 2026 release.
The extra development time could ensure the device meets Apple’s premium standards.
Unlike conventional smartphones, foldables require durable, precise hinges that can withstand thousands of folds without compromising performance. Apple appears to be taking no shortcuts, likely prioritising reliability over speed to ensure the device is long-lasting and functions seamlessly.
It is expected that the outer display will measure 5.38 inches diagonally, while the inner display spans 7.58 inches. Apple is also expected to use a custom A20 Pro chipset optimised for multitasking, split-screen use, and energy efficiency. Early speculation also suggests the Fold could house a large 5,000–5,500 mAh battery.
It is pertinent to mention that rumours of an iPhone Fold have circulated since at least 2018. But the company has not said anything on this matter so far.
Currently, Samsung dominates the market with its stylish Z Flip series, which is quite popular among the younger generation.
Recently, Apple launched its iPhone 17. Mercantile, Apple’s only authorised distributor in Pakistan, has launched the iPhone 17 family nationwide, complete with PTA approval, network compatibility, and official warranty support.
Local prices sit well above US launch tags due to import duties, taxes, currency impact, and PTA registration fees.
For instance, the iPhone 17 Pro Max that starts at $1,199 in the US lands at PKR 565,000 for the 256 GB base model in Pakistan.
