A court in Islamabad has issued bailable arrest warrants for YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan.
The arrest warrants were issued over their alleged involvement in a social media campaign against Islamabad Judge Humayun Dilawar.
Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah issued the warrant on the request of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
The agency had sought legal permission to take action after completing a preliminary inquiry into the online campaign.
He is the same judge who convicted PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case in 2023 and sentenced him to three years in prison.
The arrest warrants were also issued for two officials from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s anti-corruption body,
A day earlier, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed a petition seeking to quash a cybercrime case registered against a petitioner accused of running the campaign.
Earlier this year, Imran Riaz Khan announced his relocation abroad after leaving Pakistan.
He said, “I am proud that my Lord has granted me the perseverance to stand against every form of oppression. I endured brutal violence and terrifying imprisonment. I was arrested ten times, faced numerous legal cases, and was even forcibly prevented from performing Hajj, but my Lord granted me patience.” In his post, Khan also promised to return to Pakistan soon.
