Web desk: Arshad Nadeem has won a Gold Medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh in the javelin throw.

At the Islamic Solidarity Games, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem is currently leading in the javelin throw competition. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem and Yasir Sultan are both participating in the event.

Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem recorded throws of 75.44m in his first attempt, 83.05m in his second, and 82.48m in his third.

He remains in the lead, while Nigeria’s Samuel Adams is in second place with a best throw of 75.46m. Pakistan’s Muhammad Yasir is currently third with a throw of 74.43m.

In his fourth attempt, Arshad Nadeem threw 77.06m, but he still holds the top position with his second attempt of 83.05m. Muhammad Yasir recorded a throw of 76.04m in his sixth attempt.

Meanwhile, Yasir clinched silver with a final throw of 76.04m, overtaking Nigeria’s Samuel Adams Kure, who took bronze with 76.01m.

These two medals brought Pakistan’s overall tally at the games to four, alongside bronze medals won by boxers Fatima Zahra and Qudrat Ullah in their respective categories.

A super enthusiastic crowd at the Prince Faisal Bin Stadium gathered near the javelin sector and waved Pakistani flags proudly, capturing the moment on their phones.

Arshad began his campaign with a modest first throw of 75.44m, then crossed the 80m mark on his second and third attempts.

His fourth throw measured 77.06m, followed by a foul on the fifth.

Before his sixth and final throw, Arshad encouraged the crowd with rhythmic claps above his head.

His last throw of 77.98m did not affect his standings, but he bowed to the ground in prostration to celebrate his gold medal before shaking hands with the other competitors.

Fans eagerly surrounded the athlete to take selfies as he made his way to coach Salman Butt in the stands, enjoying the cool 20-degree weather in the capital.
