‘Deeply concerned’: Asad Qaiser speaks out on Imran Khan’s health

Asad Qaiser Imran Khan health

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and secretary general of Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan, Asad Qaiser, on Friday, while addressing a press conference, raised concerns regarding the health of Imran Khan.

He said, “I am deeply concerned about the reports regarding Imran Khan’s health, as he was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical and Health Sciences (PIMS) Hospital for an eye procedure, which has not been reported yet.”

Government ministers have been continuously making false statements, and these reports deny claims that Imran Khan is receiving special treatment in jail.

Asad Qaiser added that, “The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, himself admitted that Imran Khan was taken to PIMS Hospital. Now, which of the government’s statements should we believe?”

He also complained about not being allowed to meet the sisters of Imran Khan along with the party members with Imran Khan. Asad Qaiser said that the government had not even allowed the Chief Minister (CM) of KP, Sohail Afridi, to meet with Khan.

Atta Tarar’s claim about Imran Khan

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has confirmed that the former Prime Minister Imran Khan was taken to the PIMS for a short medical check-up.

Speaking to reporters, Tarar said that ophthalmologists had examined Khan at Adiala Jail. They recommended shifting him to PIMS for further assessment and a minor medical procedure.

According to the minister, Khan was taken to PIMS on Saturday night. After giving written consent, the former prime minister went through a brief procedure, which lasted about 20 minutes. He was then returned to Adiala Jail with the necessary medical instructions.

Tarar emphasised that Khan is “fully fit and healthy.” He added that all prisoners have access to medical care according to the rules.

The minister’s comments come amid ongoing attention to the health of high-profile inmates. He described the visit as a routine medical check-up and said the procedure was carried out following standard medical advice.

Asadullah Khan reported the disease

Journalist Asadullah Khan already told in a vlog that former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been diagnosed with an eye condition called Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO). According to the journalist, the condition could affect Khan’s eyesight if it were not treated promptly.

Asadullah Khan also reported that a team of doctors from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) visited Khan in Adiala Jail on three occasions between January 16, 19, and 21 to monitor his condition.
