Asma Abbas advises single women over 60 to consider marriage

Senior Pakistani actress Asma Abbas has shared her thoughts on marriage later in life, encouraging women over the age of 60 who are living alone to consider marriage if they find a better life partner. The veteran actress, in her latest vlog, explained that companionship becomes increasingly important with age.

Asma Abbas stated that many people misunderstood her previous statement and clarified that her earlier remarks on the topic had been taken out of context. According to the actress, she never suggested that everyone should get married, as the decision depends entirely on finding a genuine person. People should remain cautious when making such an important life decision.

However, she added that if someone is fortunate enough to meet a kind, honest and loyal individual, there is nothing wrong with accepting the opportunity to build a new relationship, regardless of age.

Further, to support her statement, the actress referred to the marriages of her sister, renowned actress Bushra Ansari, and veteran actress Samina Ahmed. She said both women were fortunate to find supportive life partners later in life, and such meaningful relationships bring comfort and emotional stability.

The actress also highlighted the practical side of companionship in old age. She explained that growing older often brings health concerns and daily challenges, making the presence of a caring partner even more valuable. In such times, partners’ emotional support, assistance during illness, and sharing everyday responsibilities can greatly improve a person’s quality of life.

Asma Abbas further stated that lasting marriages require mutual respect, patience, understanding and tolerance between both partners. These qualities help strengthen relationships and enable couples to overcome life’s challenges together.
