LAHORE: ASP Sher Bano Naqvi’s clip has gone viral in which she abruptly leaves a podcast to solve a murder case and is back on an hour, displaying extra ordinary detective skills.
In the video, she receives a phone call and as soon as she answers the call, she tells the host, “Stay here, there’s been a murder, I have to go,” and rushes off.
The podcast, uploaded on a popular YouTube channel, cuts the screen for a short while, saying she will return in an hour.
When she comes back, the interview resumes from where it left off. The host praises her professionalism and asks what happened, and she briefly replies that it was a murder case.
During the conversation, ASP Sher Bano explains the case: in Defence, a dispute over a deal led one friend to kill another. The victim’s family was held hostage.
When the relatives returned from out of town and couldn’t reach the family by phone, they climbed over the wall into the house. The homeowner, with hands tied, indicated the suspect. The family then went to the police station, and the police arrested the suspect.
Although the full explanation in the podcast lasts only a few minutes, that segment became the most talked-about part online.
Social media users are having a field day and are responding with jokes and criticism.
One wrote that ASP solved a murder case in just an hour, which is “extraordinary speed.” Another joked that it took less time than they take to solve a physics numerical.
Some questioned the reality of solving a case and catching the suspect in just one hour.
So far, ASP Sher Bano Naqvi hasn’t issued an official statement.
