With an innings and a 51-run win, Australia has levelled the Test series with Bangladesh to recover from their loss in Darwin.
Mitchell Starc completely dominated Bangladesh and picked up 10 wickets, including five in 2nd innings. Bangladesh was unable to score even 100 runs in both innings.
Australia scored 210 runs in the first innings and were all out. Bangladesh, on the other hand scored 64 runs in the first innings.
Cameron Green scored 67 in the first innings to lead the way, while Nathan Lyon remained unbeaten on 32 runs to give Australia a total of 210 runs in the first innings.
Shoriful Islam bowled his career-best taking 7 wickets for 48 runs and impressing the audience.
The second innings of the Bangladesh team also started badly. Starc soon got rid of Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque.
Tanzid Hasan also got knocked down at a low score, but Najmul Hossain Shanto was able to stabilise Bangladesh’s batting for a while before getting out at 31 runs.
The wickets continued to fall rapidly. Litton Das took his third straight duck of the series while Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Hasan Mahmud were bowled by Pat Cummins.
Starc then bowled Taijul Islam to bag the fourth 10-wicket haul of his career.
Bangladesh finished their 2nd innings in just three balls after tea.
This test was the first time Bangladesh has been bowled out for less than 100 runs in both innings.
Australia’s 210 was the fourth lowest total to ever win a test match by a whole innings.
Steven Smith also had his 219th Test catch, the same number as Joe Root and the most for any player.
