Australia offers scholarships to Pakistani students

Study in China: Fully-Funded Scholarships 2026 for Bachelor’s, Master’s & PhD

Australia has reiterated its commitment to the development of Pakistan by continuing the Australia Awards program in so forth in which Australia offers full funded scholarships for studies in masters degree from Australian top universities.

The initiative is part of Australia’s wider international development assistance to Pakistan to help promote long-term stability, economic growth and regional prosperity. By investing in higher education, the program aims to boost institutional capacity, foster emerging leaders and cultivate relationship-building between people in both countries.

The program, the Australia Awards, is aimed at establishing emerging professionals with advanced knowledge, international exposure, and practical skills to address Pakistan’s major development challenges. The applicants are assessed on academic merit, professional experience, leadership abilities, and the potential of the applicant to contribute to national development upon their return.

Special emphasis is placed on inclusivity with strong encouragement for applications from women, people with disabilities and individuals from underrepresented or marginalised communities.

For Pakistan, areas of study are decided together by Australia and Pakistan Governments and are updated on a regular basis. Current developing issue sectors are: climate change and environment resilience, women and girls empowerment, agriculture and water management, infrastructure development and inclusive economic growth.

The scholarships are only for Master’s level programs with studies set to commence in Australia in 2027. Candidates with a regularly acquired and the same qualification are not eligible to apply.

Successful applicants will receive full financial support which includes return air travel, full tuition support, a one off establishment allowance and a living expenses stipend. Additional benefits include overseas student health insurance, academic orientation programs, continuous academic support and allowances for compulsory fieldwork where applicable.

To be eligible, applicants should be Pakistani citizens living in Pakistan, and apply from within the country. It is not open to individuals with Australian citizenship, permanent or seeking permanent migration to Australia.
