Australian cricket team has landed in Lahore for the highly anticipated T20I series against Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a video of the visitors’ arrival in Lahore.

Australia will play three T20 international matches against Pakistan. All three matches will be played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, from January 29.

Match officials announced for Pak vs Aus T20I series

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the names of officials for the upcoming Pakistan vs Australia T20I series at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from January 29 to February 1.

According to official announcement, ICC International Panel of Match Referees member Ali Naqvi will head the playing control team during the series.

The renowned umpire, Ahsan Raza, will perform duties as an on-field umpire in the first two T20Is. Raza will be accompanied by Asif Yaqoob in 1st T20i and Rashid Riaz in the second clash.

Riaz will also serve as the fourth umpire in the 1st match. He will resume his on-field duties in the 3rd T20I with Nasir Hussain. Meanwhile, Zulfiqar Jan will be the fourth umpire in the final match.

Australia squad

Australia earlier announced a 17-member squad for their upcoming tour of Pakistan.

Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Tim David will miss the tour due to injuries.

Mitchell Marsh will be the captain. Sean Abbott, Xavier Bartlett, Mahli Beardman and Cooper Connolly have also been included in the squad.

Other players selected include Jack Edwards, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kuhnemann, and Mitch Owen.

The squad also features Josh Philippe, Matthew Renshaw, Matt Short, Marcus Stoinis and experienced leg-spinner Adam Zampa.

Pak vs Aus matches revised timing

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revised the match timings for the national team’s upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia. The series is set to begin on January 29.

The decision was taken due to extreme weather conditions. As a result, all three T20Is will now start at 4:00 pm local time, with the toss scheduled for 3:30 pm. Previously, the matches were set to begin at 6:00 pm, with the toss at 5:30 pm.

Pakistan and Australia will face off at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on January 29, January 31, and February 1. The series will serve as important preparation for both teams ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

World Cup preperation

This series has important significance for the preparations of the teams, in which Pakistan would be drawn in Group A and Australia in Group B in the World Cup. It is the third visit of Australia to Pakistan following March 2022.

Their previous games consisted of a Test series, ODIs and an isolated T20I also at the same venue, which was won by Australia by 3 wickets. The ground also recently hosted matches in 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed said he was looking forward with eagerness and said that, “We are excited to host Australia.” This series will offer Pakistani cricket lovers a magnificent beginning to the year.”

He further added that the Australian team is not strangers to the Gaddafi Stadium and has played several formats of the game since 2022.
