The Marvel Studios Blockbuster Avengers: Endgame is back in theatres with brand new footage, extra scenes and a special preview of the next Avengers film, Doomsday.
The extended version, dubbed Avengers: Endgame Encore, was released on September 25, 2026, giving fans another opportunity to experience the film and adding new story elements that tie into the upcoming release of Avengers: Endgame.
The rerelease is about 185 minutes long, about four minutes longer than the theatrical release. It contains a fresh introduction with Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., as well as brand new scenes that extend the film’s end and tie up with the upcoming Marvel movie.
New scenes bring Doomsday to Endgame
The final film includes scenes with other characters such as Loki, Bruce Banner and Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
One new scene reveals that Loki has made his way to Steve Rogers’ and Peggy Carter’s home, indicating that the implications of Steve’s excursion through time could have a bearing on the next chapter.
A couple of shots also show Bruce Banner recording a message before Doctor Doom enters the scene, suggesting they might have some sort of confrontation as well.
In addition, the rerelease features a sequence set in the Time Variance Authority base, where Mobius and O.B. talk about an escalating situation with regards to multiple universes. In the scene, the possibility of a ‘multi-versal collapse’ is introduced, which will play an important role in the upcoming storyline.
The scenes are an extra bonus on the standard release, and are part of the IMAX and Infinity Vision editions, which give a sneak peak of Avengers: Doomsday, set for release on December 18, 2026.
The rerelease acts as a time capsule between events of Endgame and the next big Avengers movie of Marvel.
