Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam entered his name into the history books by becoming the first player to cross the 4000-run mark in the history of the Pakistan Super League on Saturday.

The historic moment was when Zalmi played with Lahore Qalandars at the National Stadium, Karachi.

The right-handed batter with a 43-run off 40 deliveries in a calm innings hit the historic mark.

His knock had three boundaries and a six, which indicated his typically cautious yet effective batting manner.

Although the innings itself was not a high scoring one, it played a huge role in landing Babar at the top of the batting records of PSL.

When Babar completed his 105th appearance with the league, it demonstrated not only his longevity but also his amazing consistency.

Throughout his career in PSL he has had an impressive strike rate of 127.92.

This is further reinforced by his 37 half-centuries and 2 centuries.
