Babar Azam creates history, leaves Kohli behind

Babar Azam

Pakistan’s star batter and former captain, Babar Azam has smashed the record of Indian batter, Virat Kohli.

During the match between Pakistan and South Africa, he made 51 runs.

He completed his 40th half-century in T20 internationals. Earlier, he had equalled Kohli’s record with his 39th fifty.

It is pertinent to mention that Babar Azam was dropped from the T20 squad for the South Africa series in December last year.

Earlier, he overtook India’s Rohit Sharma to become the highest run-scorer in men’s T20 Internationals.

He was not part of Asia Cup 2025.
