The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest rankings for Test and ODI players. Pakistan captain Babar Azam re-entered the top ten Test list of batters after climbing five places.
His rise follows Pakistan’s eight-wicket win over the West Indies in Port of Spain, where he scored 88 in the first innings, marking his return to the top 10 for the first time since September 2024.
At the top of the Test batters’ rankings, Australia’s Travis Head continues to hold the number one position, with England’s Harry Brook and Joe Root occupying the second and third spots.
According to the new rankings, Abdullah Shafique also made progress by jumping 25 places to reach the 32nd position after scoring an unbeaten 160 that helped Pakistan secure a first-innings lead in the same Test.
Other Test batters’ rankings include Salman Ali Agha standing at 38th while Shan Masood holds the 39th spot. However, among Test bowlers, Pakistan spinner Noman Ali maintained his position at eighth.
