Babar Azam rewrites T20 records in PSL season 11

Babar Azam T20 records

Another major milestone has been added by Babar Azam, Peshawar Zalmi’s captain, to his dominant T20 career. He has become the fastest batter in men’s T20 history to score 12,000 runs.

The landmark achievement came during the PSL 11 clash of Peshawar Zalmi with Karachi Kings at the National Stadium.

Babar Azam entered the match very close to this achievement just 13 runs short of the milestone.

He came with confidence and style and smashed Khushdil Shah a Six during the fourth over of the innings.

With the six, Babar Azam became one of the only 12 batters in the men’s T20 cricket who have been able to cross 12,000 run mark.

He has joined an elite group of batsmen that includes Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma and Shoaib Malik.

The reason why this achievement is so significant is because of the speed with which he got it.

The milestone was reached by Babr Azam in 338 innings. He has become the quickest player to do so.

That puts him way ahead of Chris Gayle who was able to get the milestone in 343 innings. David Warner and Virat Kohli are even further behind.

Another record is added by this milestone to Babar Azam’s already extremely impressive T20 resume.

Babar Azam since his debut has been very consistent in T20s both in franchises and international matches.

However, when it comes to who has scored the most runs in the T20s Chris Gayle still sits at the top of the chart.

The milestone has strengthened Babar Azam as one of the all time’s great and made him one of the best Pakistani white-ball batters.

For Zalmi this achievement also comes at a very important time as Babar Azam is once again leading the team.
