Web desk: Famous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) singer Babar Yousafzai has released a new song titled “Namak Haram,” which has quickly gained popularity across social media platforms.

The song is released when tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan are on the rise, and the song is perceived by many listeners as a kind of artistic expression that reflects the moods of people, observers say.

The title phrase “Namak Haram” is an Urdu phrase meaning “one who is treacherous” or “one who cannot be trusted.”

Babar Yousafzai is a Pakistani singer and musician of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) who has a reputation for making patriotic songs and covers of popular hits.

He reportedly shares his music on SoundCloud and other platforms, with notable tracks such as “Alvida,” “Koi Faryaad,” “Dard Kam Nahi Hota,” “Batain Ye Kabhi Na,” and “Angan OST.”

Yousefzai has gained media coverage for dedicating Namak Haram to those in Afghanistan who are hostile to Pakistan.

His work continues to blend emotion with cultural and national themes, resonating with a broad audience, observers say.

Meanwhile, in a recent development, Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to a temporary 48-hour ceasefire.

According to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, the ceasefire came into effect at 6 pm local time (13:00 GMT) on Wednesday.

The ministry said both sides will make sincere efforts through dialogue to find a positive and peaceful solution to the ongoing standoff, describing it as a “complex but resolvable” issue.

‘A temporary ceasefire has been decided between the Pakistani government and the Afghan Taliban regime for the next 48 hours from 6 pm today, with the mutual consent of both parties, at the request of the Taliban,’ stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, the Pakistan Army had responded effectively to the recent unprovoked border aggression by the Afghan Taliban regime and Fitna al-Khawarij.
