Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation on Saturday with the Foreign Minister of Bahrain, Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
The two leaders discussed the latest developments in the region. Senator Ishaq Dar underscored the urgent need for de-escalation and emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy.
He also highlighted the Pakistan-China five-point initiative aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf region. Foreign Minister Al Zayani appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to advance dialogue and diplomacy for regional peace and stability.
Iranian FM says deeply grateful to Pakistan for its efforts
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) Seyed Abbas Araghchi called for “an end to the illegal war that is imposed on the country”.
In a post on X, the Iranian foreign minister said, “Iran’s position is being misrepresented by US media. We are deeply grateful to Pakistan for its efforts and have never refused to go to Islamabad. What we care about are the terms of a conclusive and lasting end to the illegal war that is imposed on us.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar has appreciated Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi for clarifying Iran’s position regarding recent media reports.
In a post on social media platform X, Ishaq Dar thanked Abbas Araghchi for his clarification, describing him as a “Dear Brother.”
