My father’s wealth is fully invested in Pakistan: Bakhtawar Bhutto

Bakhtawar Bhutto

Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari in a post on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) today, said that her father does not even own one bank account abroad.

She further clarified that her father is one of the few leaders of the world whose entire wealth and assets are completely invested in Pakistan.

Her post was a reply to a tweet alleging that the current President Asif Ali Zardari had assets in the UAE. Replying to this the President’s daughter clarified that her father does not have any wealth and assets outside of Pakistan.

The tweet by Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari is crucial since it counters misinformation on the internet about the government of Pakistan.

Bakhtawar Bhutto is the oldest daughter of current President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

She is also the granddaughter of former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Her siblings are Bilawal Bhutto and Aseefa Bhutto.

Her brother is currently the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party. She belongs to two influential families, the Zardari family and the Bhutto family.

The current President, Asif Ali Zardari has been the President of Pakistan twice. He was born on July 26, 1955, making him the first President of Pakistan born after independence of the country.

Asif Ali Zardari was born in Karachi and was also raised in Karachi. He was married to Benazir Bhutto on December 18, 1987.

He was the only son of Hakim Ali Zardari who died in May 2011. After that he became the chieftain of the Zardari tribe.

However, initially he didn’t want the position and wanted his son Bilawal Bhutto to become the chieftain instead.
