Balochistan gets its first winter rainfall

Quetta recievs its first winter rainfall

QUETTA: Cold weather has intensified in border areas of Balochistan, including Quetta and Chaman, following the first winter rainfall.

Heavy rain was recorded in areas along the Pakistan-Afghan border and the Pakistan-Iran border.
Several low-lying areas were inundated after the downpour.

Cold conditions also worsened in Kojak Top, Shelabagh, Qila Abdullah, Zhob, Tooba Achakzai, and the Khwaja Imran Range due to rainfall.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a western weather system responsible for rain and snowfall over the mountains is present over Balochistan.

There is a possibility of snowfall on hills in northern areas, including Kojak Top.

Meanwhile, snowfall in upper parts of the country has further intensified the cold, while temperatures in Qalat have dropped to minus three degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile a rain-bearing weather system has entered Punjab, intensifying seasonal conditions and prompting forecasts of rain and snowfall in different areas.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the system has moved into Punjab, including the provincial capital Lahore.
However, due to its weak intensity, today is expected to remain cloudy with foggy conditions.

Weather experts said light rain is likely tomorrow in Lahore and several other districts of the province.
They added that the rainfall may provide relief from dry weather–related illnesses such as flu, cold, cough, and fever.
