The Balochistan government has made it clear that it will take strict legal and administrative action against families whose relatives join banned terrorist organisations, including the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) BLF, or their factions and fail to report their affiliation or formally dissociate themselves.
According to high-level sources, the measures will target multiple areas, including blocking passports, freezing bank accounts, suspending mobile SIMs, prohibiting the buying and selling of property, cancelling government contracts, revoking jobs, and terminating tenders or other government engagements.
Officials said the move has become increasingly necessary in the wake of the recent BLA attack on January 31, which led to the identification of 140 BLA terrorists. Authorities warned that families of individuals involved with such groups who do not cooperate could face stringent consequences under these new measures.
The State of Pakistan is now proceeding with the implementation of this policy, which has been categorically announced multiple times. It is clarified that families who voluntarily reported the involvement of their relatives and formally disassociated themselves from terrorist elements will not face any restrictions.
The government stated that these measures are being implemented in the interest of national security, the rule of law, and public safety. The Balochistan government has urged citizens to promptly report any ties their family members may have to terrorist elements to avoid facing legal sanctions.
Earlier instructions have issued by the Home Department, Government of Balochistan, for the general public, parents, and families to be strictly followed. These instructions are for all those whose children or family members go missing from home or join any non-state actors/terrorist group.
