Bangladesh cricket authorities have issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to a number of players to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11.
However, the granting of the permissions has been done on a partial basis because of future international commitments against New Zealand.
According to the media reports from Bangladesh, the decision was made keeping in mind the availability of players for the upcoming games of the PSL and the scheduled games of the national team.
Bangladesh is to host New Zealand in a full series as it will play three One Day Internationals on April 17, 20, and 23 and a three-match T20 International series due to be held on April 27, April 29, and May 2.
The national team camp for the New Zealand series is expected to start on March 27.
Several players from Bangladesh including Mustafiz ur Rahman, Parvez Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana, Tanzid Hasan and Rishad Hossain have PSL contracts.
However, due to national duties they will not be available for the whole duration of the PSL.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has issued partial NOCs giving all the contracted players the option to remain available for the ODI series. The series is important for Bangladesh for World Cup qualification.
This is indicative of the board’s commitment to having full-strength participation of Bangladesh in key international matches.
Fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been given a segmented NOC, in which he will be allowed to play in the PSL from March 26 to April 12, and from April 24 to May 3.
He has been exempted for T20 series against New Zealand. There are other players who have been cleared to play in the PSL till April 12, including Tanzid Hasan, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana and Rishad Hossain, while Parvez Hossain has been approved till April 21.
The arrangement gives emphasis on the careful coordination between franchise commitments and the international cricket obligations.
