All major terrorist attacks in the Bannu region have been foiled as a result of extensive operations by police and security forces, according to an official report.
The report states that militants attempted 10 attacks on police stations and check posts and made over 130 drone attack attempts, all of which were thwarted through timely response and reinforced security measures.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu Sajjad Khan personally supervised the operations.
He said that while some militant hideouts still exist in parts of Bannu and extremists have repeatedly tried to target police installations, modern equipment and strong public cooperation have prevented any major attack from succeeding.
According to RPO, the IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provided significant support to Bannu region, including modern weapons, bulletproof gates and a double-wall security system, which also helped neutralise attempted drone strikes.
The report further reveals that during various operations, 14 most-wanted terrorists were killed and 22 others were injured. RPO Bannu added that, as always, the public stood firmly by the police in the fight against terrorism.
