The citizens can now submit applications for a passport online from their homes. The development came after the major positive changes in the passport system, the private media channel reported Thursday.

According to the details, the federal government has decided to bring revolutionary changes to the passport system. After these changes, the citizens can now submit online applications for a passport.

The decision regarding the online application was taken in the high-level meeting headed by the Director General of Passport and Immigration, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. It is important to mention that NADRA’s technical representatives also attended the huddle.

 The report also confirmed that the entire passport system is being linked with modern technology as per the vision of the federal Interior Minister Mohin Naqvi.

Through the new positive changes in the passport system, citizens can be facilitated, and the process can be made transparent.

The report also confirmed that the citizens can complete the entire passport process online by sitting at their homes, adding that they don’t need to stand and wait in the long lines.

In the next 15 days, the cashless system will be applied in all the passport offices. The cashless system will help citizens to avoid the mafia.

Major reforms have been announced by the federal government to provide support to citizens and improve passport services.  

The decisions regarding the passport were made during a meeting chaired by Talal Chaudry and Mohsin Naqvi.

The details suggest that the processing time for a normal passport has been reduced from 21 days to 14 days. This will ensure faster delivery for applicants.
