The process of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) registration has been made more convenient as citizens can now also apply online and also check eligibility through 8171 SMS service.
In order to take advantage of the program in 2026, applicants must satisfy some basic eligibility criteria, such as household income level, family size, and lack of stable sources of income. Women are being given priority as the head of households in order to help them better take charge of family finances.
Online Registration Method
The government has made the process of registration online easy. Applicants must access the registration portal of BISP, they provide information of CNIC number, family and contact details, submit the application and wait for a confirmation message. The online system helps in speedy and efficient processing of applications.
Applicants can also verify their eligibility by using 8171 SMS service by sending their CNIC number to 8171. They will receive a reply message about their eligibility status. If eligible, they should follow the instructions to complete the registration and receive payments. This service allows citizens to access information without having to go to offices.
For the purpose of registration of the name, some basic documents are required, such as the CNIC of the head of the family, the proof of residence (such as utility bill or rent agreement etc.) and the information about family income and number. Providing accurate and complete documents is helpful in speeding up the verification process.
Payment Procedure

This financial aid helps families meet daily expenses, child education, healthcare expenses, etc.
Experts have advised applicants to ensure that the CNIC status and the contact details are recorded properly, one should keep the registration number and only apply through the official channels to avoid fraud.
