BTS send shockwaves across the world with comeback concert

The world famous South Korean pop group, BTS also known as Bangtan Boys, returned to the stage in Seoul, South Korea with a mega comeback concert.

The comeback concert comes after three years since all members including RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook had to join the military as part of South Korea’s mandatory military service policy for able-bodied males between ages 18 and 35 years.

BTS make a return with fifth album

They returned on Friday with a new album, which their record label reportedly sold nearly 4 million copies on its first day, preceding a global tour set to begin next month, the largest tour in K-pop history yet.

Although there were only 22,000 tickets available for the inner area to attend Saturday’s concert live, authorities in Seoul had expected as many as 260,000 individuals to gather outside as part of the crowd.

A complete section of the city was cordoned off with barricades. Ultimately, most fans opted to refrain from attending for the time being.

The South Korean news agency, Yonhap, while referencing estimates from the city government, indicated that 40,000-42,000 attendees were present.

Fans, who identify themselves as the BTS ARMY, had the opportunity to view the concert on Netflix, where it was broadcast live in 190 countries.

“It’s been a long journey but now we’re finally here,” said RM, the leader of BTS, who performed a significant portion of the concert seated due to an ankle injury sustained during rehearsals.

BTS’ world tour is scheduled to continue until 2027, covering 34 regions and 82 shows to date, as per the tour website.

According to reports, their newly released fifth album has now reached No.1 on Netflix in 77 countries.
