Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz has extended business hours during Ramzan at the request of the business community.

Maryam Nawaz extended business hours on the request of the Businessmen community, super stores and restaurant associations.

Advisor to CM Punjab, Zeeshan Malik, posted the notification on his X account. According to the notification, all business centres are exempt from following the business hours restrictions during Ramzan.

As per the notification, there is a special leverage to shops, supermarkets and shopping malls across Punjab.

According to the issued notification by the labour and human rights department, the leave to the business community has been given under the Punjab Shops and Establishments Ordinance 1969.

All the relevant authorities have been directed to follow the instructions given in the notification. Similarly, the DG Welfare and Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to ensure implementation of the orders.

The Punjab government has directed the Information Department to publicise the notification in the media. On the other hand, all the presidents of chambers of commerce have also been informed about the decision related to business hours across Punjab in Ramazan.

It is pertinent to mention that the Punjab government has taken this decision to facilitate the people of Punjab during Ramazan.

Punjab Board announces 2026 matric datesheet  

On the other hand, the Punjab Board has announced the datesheet of the 2026 matric exams. According to the notification, the matric exam 2026 will begin after Ramzan. The notification confirmed the dates as the exams will be between March 27 and April 2026.

However, the exam timing will be different for the morning and evening papers. The morning paper will start at 9 am, and the evening paper will begin at 2 pm. On Friday, the evening paper will begin at 2:30 pm.

Separately, the Punjab board has also issued the timetable for the practical examination.
