Chinese multinational electric vehicle manufacturer Build Your Dreams (BYD) is set to launch its two new models in Pakistan by the end of January 2026. The company has confirmed that the ‘BYD Atto 2’ and the ‘BYD Sealion 7’ will be launched locally, keeping in view the growing range of electric vehicles available in the country.
While the models and launch timeline have been confirmed, BYD has not yet announced prices or final specifications for the Pakistani market.
BYD Atto 2
The BYD Atto 2 will be the more affordable car compared to both of the models. It is a subcompact electric Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that comes after the Atto 3 in both size and price. Internationally, it is known as the Yuan Up and is designed as an entry-level option for buyers who are new to using electric vehicles.

Talking about the battery, the company has offered the ‘Blade Battery Technology’ known as Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and has also given two options for the battery power:
- 32 kilowatt hour (kWh) with a range of 301km as per the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle(CLTC)
- 45.1 kilowatt hour (kWh) with a range of 401 km (CLTC)
Power output varies by version, with higher trims of 174horsepower (hp) and base motor of 94hp offering quicker acceleration. The model also supports fast charging, allowing the battery to recharge from 30% to 80% in under half an hour.
BYD Sealion 7: more powerful option
The Sealion 7 is a midsize electric SUV positioned above the Atto 3. It is aimed at buyers looking for more space and stronger performance and is often compared to vehicles like the Tesla Model Y in international markets.

Outside Pakistan, the Sealion 7 is available with larger battery packs and both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options. Higher-performance versions can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under five seconds and support very fast charging upto 230kW.
Prices and local details still awaited
BYD has not confirmed pricing, variants, or exact specifications for Pakistan. These details are expected closer to the launch date. For now, the company has only confirmed that both models will arrive by the end of January 2026, as interest in electric vehicles continues to grow across the country.
