"Call of Duty" co-creator Vince Zampella passes away in a car accident

LOS ANGELES: Vince Zampella, famous for designing the well-known game “Call of Duty,” died in a car accident on Monday on Southern California’s Angeles Crest Highway.

According to the eyewitnesses, Zampella and his colleague died when he was driving his Ferrari on the highway to the north of Los Angeles.

Suddenly, while passing a tunnel, it gets out of control and hits the concrete barrier.

Some of the most successful video games in the world were developed in his studios.

Zampella’s Career

Zampella was not only the co-creator of “Call of Duty,” but he was also the creator of Respawn Entertainment. And he was also a part of the studio of Titanfall, Apex Legends, and the Star Wars Jedi video games.

He began his career in the 1990s as a designer on shooter games.

In 2002, he co-founded Infinity Ward and helped with the release of Call of Duty in the year 2003. His studio was later purchased by Activision.

His departure to Activision was disputed, and he created Respawn in 2010, which was bought by Electronic Arts (EA) in 2017.

He later became the head of the rebirth of the Battlefield franchise at EA. This made him one of the most influential people in the modern first-person shooter games.
