Here is how you can convert your CD70 into a hybrid electric bike, as PakEVO offers to convert your 70cc motorbike into an electric vehicle (EV).
A modified version of Pakistan’s widely used 70cc motorcycle attracted attention at the Pakistan EV Expo in Lahore this week, as local companies showcased electric transport technologies and charging solutions.
The three-day event, held at the Expo Centre Lahore, featured electric cars, scooters, bikes and related infrastructure aimed at Pakistan’s growing interest in electric mobility.
Among the displays was a converted Honda CD70 fitted with a plug-in hybrid system by local company PakEVO.
The company says the system adds an electric motor alongside the bike’s existing petrol engine, allowing both to power the rear wheel separately. A lithium-ion battery is installed beneath the rear seat.

According to the company, the electric setup can provide up to 40 kilometres of range on a full charge.
The battery can either be charged through a standard wall socket or partially recharged while the petrol engine is running.
The battery capacity is listed at 0.96 kWh, with a claimed lifespan of around 2,500 charging cycles. Company representatives said the conversion kit currently costs around Rs110,000, including installation.
Pakistan’s motorcycle market is dominated by small petrol-powered bikes, particularly 70cc models, which are widely used for daily commuting due to their relatively low running costs. Rising fuel prices, however, have increased interest in electric alternatives in recent years.
Representatives at the event said a small number of hybrid conversions had already been completed and were being used on roads in Lahore.
While the conversion drew interest for its practicality and lower operating costs, the modified bodywork and battery compartment appeared less refined compared with factory-built electric motorcycles on display at the exhibition.
The Pakistan EV Expo runs until May 17 and includes participation from local and international companies working in electric transport and charging technology.
