The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to work together with the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to develop three new residential sectors in Islamabad. The sectors included are D-13, E-13, and F-13.
According to officials, the decision was influenced by the progress made in the Margalla Enclave project, where DHA completed development work much faster. Authorities now hope the same partnership model can help speed up work in these delayed sectors.
The CDA is currently working on land allotment and clearance in the three sectors. They are working on resolving ownership issues, clearing land, and preparing the area for construction work. A formal agreement between CDA and DHA is expected to be signed on the completion of work.
These sectors have remained largely undeveloped for many years. CDA reportedly had been unable to fully develop D-13, E-13, and F-13 since around 2008. These delays were linked to land disputes, administrative hurdles and slow development progress.
The project is seen to improve Islamabad’s urban expansion and housing infrastructure. Officials are also reportedly considering similar joint ventures for sectors G-12 and F-12 in the future.
However, recent public statements linked to DHA Islamabad claimed that no formal joint development project for D-13, E-13, or F-13 had yet been officially approved, apart from the Margalla project.
The proposed collaboration could increase housing development in Islamabad and help activate long delayed sectors.
Overall, many people in the real estate sector are closely watching the project because successful development could improve property values and expand residential opportunities in the capital.
In other news, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced that two housing societies located in Zone 4 of Islamabad, namely Shaheen Town and Islamabad Green Paradise, have been deemed illegal, resulting in the sealing of their offices.
CDA officials reported that, in the initial phase, all administrative offices of these illegal housing societies, which include site offices and public dealing offices, have been sealed.
