Cement prices have risen due to massive construction activities in the northern region of the country. The price of a single bag has increased by Rs. 25 to Rs. 30.
The average retail price of cement in the northern region has reached approximately Rs. 1,515 per bag this week. The price increase comes after a period of declining rates over the previous two months, during which cement prices had dropped by nearly Rs. 40 per bag. The latest market survey was conducted by JS Global.

The recent reversal of cement prices indicates that market conditions have shifted once again. Major construction activities across Pakistan in housing development sectors, and private construction continue to expand, boosting demand for cement, causing suppliers and manufacturers to raise prices.
The latest price hike also follows a successful financial year for Pakistan’s cement industry. According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), total cement dispatches during the 2025–26 fiscal year increased by 7.21%, reaching 50.5 million tons. The industry’s growth was largely supported by improved domestic demand, with local cement sales rising by 9.5% compared to the previous year.
Additionally, lower interest rates have encouraged investment in the real estate and construction sectors, leading to greater demand for building materials.
However, the higher cement prices are expected to increase construction costs for both individual consumers and property developers. Builders working on residential, commercial projects may face higher expenses as material costs continue to rise.
