A meeting of the Chagai District Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of the Inspector General of Frontier Corps Balochistan (South) on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by the District Commissioner, District Police Officer, and officials of the district administration of Chagai District.
Additionally, other senior representatives from various departments and institutions were also there.
The purpose of the meeting was to review efforts for public welfare in the district and the law and order situation. And to review the measures for the eradication of poppy cultivation, and the provision of health and education facilities.
The participants also reviewed the performance of open courts and jirgas held to resolve public issues, the repatriation of Afghan refugees, the progress of development projects under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI), and the overall regional security situation.
On this occasion, the IG FC Balochistan (South) appreciated the efforts made through coordination and cooperation under the District Coordination Committee.
This includes the rapid and dignified repatriation of Afghan refugees, actions taken for poppy eradication, and the timely and quality implementation of development projects under BSDI.
He also directed officials of all relevant institutions to further strengthen coordination and cooperation to make sure of lasting peace and stability in Chagai district. And to play an effective and key role in the development and prosperity of the people of the district.
Public, private schools closed temporarily in Balochistan
The government has announced that all public and private schools in Balochistan are closed temporarily due to the ongoing fuel shortage and the tense regional situation.
Authorities have said that the step aims to save fuel and avoid possible disruptions in daily activities.
Officials confirmed that all public and private schools are closed in Balochistan temporarily from today until March 23, 2026.
The government took this decision as part of emergency measures during the current fuel crisis.
