Chicken prices hit record high across Pakistan

Web Desk: The hike in the prices of chicken continues and now poultry meat has reached to new high which has created problems for the already financial strained consumers.

After the increase of Rs7 per Kilogram the rate has reached to Rs591 per kg that so far increased to the highest level recorded ever. While broiler premium quality meat price reached to Rs700 per kg which now out reached for low-income households.

According to shopkeepers the rate of one chicken has crossed Rs1000 which is big burden for the household and it is unmanageable for them to buy chicken in the budgets.

According to market sources the live broiler check price is Rs380 per kg while the whole sale rates have reached to Rs394 per kg.

The impact of rising prices is being felt across the entire supply chain, with the burden ultimately falling on consumers.

Egg prices have also remained at a peak level, with eggs selling at Rs331 per dozen in the market, while the price of a crate has surged to Rs9,810.

Citizens say the rising prices of basic food items such as chicken and eggs are creating serious difficulties, increasing their daily living expenses and squeezing household finances.
