Punjab Police have initiated an investigation into the death of a doctor who was found dead in his car in the parking area of the Children Hospital in Lahore.
Doctor Ahmed Lateef, who was missing for the past four days, was found dead in his car at the parking area of the hospital yesterday.
The eyewitnesses immediately called the police, who began their initial investigation and restricted the area as a crime scene.
Children Hospital Lahore doctor death
As per the police officials, Dr Ahmed Lateef was working at the Haematology Department of Children’s Hospital Lahore.
The officials said that the body was being taken into custody as soon as they reached the crime scene and was sent for the post-mortem.
As per the results of the reports, the doctor was under anxiety and depression due to domestic issues for quite some time.
Meanwhile, the exact cause of death is yet to be investigated, as the investigation is underway and every possible angle is being covered to gather the truth behind the incident.
Dr Ahmed was identified as the resident of Canal Park Society, and as per the media reports, was the head of the blood bank in the Children Hospital Lahore.
After recovering his body, the police sent it to the Mayo Hospital morgue in Lahore.
Committee made by hospital
The Medical Director (MD) of Children’s Hospital Lahore, Prof Dr Tipu Sultan, has made a four-member fact-finding committee to investigate the demise of Dr Ahmed Lateef.
The committee will be headed by Professor of Paediatric Haematology, Prof Saima Farhan, while the other three members include Dr Ali Abu Zar, Dr Hafiz Muhammad Atif Nazir and Dr Ayesha Khanum, who is also an Assistant Professor of Paediatric Haematology at the hospital.
The committee will submit its findings to the MD within 24 hours of its investigation.
