Web desk: China’s prestigious Jiangsu University has announced fully-funded scholarships for international students, including applicants from Pakistan, for undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs.

The university has opened applications for the Presidential Scholarship 2026, which provides full and partial funding to outstanding foreign students.

The initiative, supported by the Jiangsu Provincial Government, aims to enhance the university’s global academic reputation and attract talented students worldwide.

Fully-Funded Scholarships 2026: Scholarship Details

Master’s Degree Scholarships

  • Type A: CNY 25,000: For top-performing Jiangsu University students transitioning from bachelor’s to master’s, nominees from Belt and Road partner universities, graduates from the world’s top 1,000 universities (US News, QS, THE, ARWU), and graduates of China’s first-class universities or disciplines, or ESI top 1 per cent programs.
  • Type B: CNY 20,000: For all other admitted master’s candidates.

PhD Scholarships

  • Type A (Full Funding): Covers tuition, accommodation (CNY 5,000), and stipend (CNY 5,000) for top-eligible candidates (same criteria as Type A master’s).
  • Type B (Partial Funding): Covers tuition and accommodation for other PhD candidates.

Undergraduate Scholarships

  • CNY 10,000 for first-year students in programs including Material Science and Engineering, Electronic Commerce, and Corporate Finance.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be international students admitted to an approved undergraduate or postgraduate program.

Age limits are 25 years for bachelor’s, 30 years for master’s, and 40 years for PhD programs. Eligible fields include engineering, business, economics, finance, statistics, marketing, automation, commerce, and human resource management.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit a passport copy, academic transcripts (with notarised English translations if needed), an English proficiency certificate, an HSK-4 certificate for Chinese-medium programs, two recommendation letters (for master’s and PhD), a research proposal, and a statement of family financial status.

HSK 4 is the fourth level of Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK). The HSK is a standardised Chinese language proficiency test for non-native speakers. This test is also equivalent to a B2 level on the CEFR Scale.

Application Process

Students must first secure admission to Jiangsu University and then complete the Presidential Scholarship Form online at admission.ujs.edu.cn.
