CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza Meets Maldivian Leadership in Official Visit

Web desk: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), paid an official visit to the Maldives.

There he met President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Defence Minister Mr Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, and Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy.

During the meetings, both sides discussed the regional and global security environment.

Additionally, they also discussed matters of mutual interest, including defence and security cooperation.

They also agreed to enhance military-to-military engagements and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral defence ties.

The Maldivian leadership praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the Maldives National Defence Force Headquarters, General Mirza was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent.

Field Marshal Asim Munirs Official Visit to Egypt

Earlier, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), took an official visit to Egypt, according to ISPR.

The visit seeks to strengthen military cooperation and defence ties between Pakistan and Egypt.

During the trip, Field Marshal Asim Munir met with Egyptian Minister of Defence and Defence Production General Abdul Maged Saqar and Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa Fatehi.

The meetings focused on regional security, mutual interests, and ways to enhance defence collaboration.

Field Marshal Asim Munir said that Egypt is a brotherly country, and closer cooperation will benefit both nations and support regional peace and stability.

At the Ministry of Defence, he was given a warm welcome and presented with a Guard of Honour.

He also laid floral wreaths at the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier and at the grave of former Egyptian President Mohamed Anwar Al Sadat.

Later, the Field Marshal Asim Munir met His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed El Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.
