Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, met with Saudi Arabia’s Chief of General Staff, General Fayaz bin Hamid Al-Ruwaili, during an official visit to the Kingdom.
He was conferred with the prestigious “King Abdulaziz Medal of Honour of the Excellent Class”.
This award acknowledges his distinguished services. The Saudi military leadership praised the professional expertise of Pakistan’s armed forces and appreciated their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the global and regional situation and explored ways to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation. On this occasion, the military leadership of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening brotherhood and deepening long-lasting defence relations.
Both sides agreed to continue enhancing defence cooperation and further strengthen bilateral relations in the future. This meeting reflects the strong ties and brotherhood between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The efforts of Pakistan’s military leadership not only promote bilateral relations but also play an important role in regional peace and stability.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza’s award confirms the strength of the friendly and defence relationship between the two countries.
The Saudi military leadership also lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a time-tested relationship based on military cooperation, economic ties, and shared Islamic values.
In September, both countries signed a “Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement” in Riyadh, pledging that any attack on one would be treated as an act of aggression against both nations.
