CJP Yahya Afridi visits Tharparkar, inspects court systems

WEB DESK: Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi visited Tharparkar on Tuesday to examine the delivery of justice and to inspect how the courts are functioning.

During his visit, the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court also accompanied him. The main focus of the visit was to inspect the judicial access, court infrastructure, and to examine whether people from remote areas are getting proper delivery of justice.

According to the media reports, while visiting the Civil Court Complex in Nagarparkar, the Chief Justice inspected administrative arrangements and court proceedings.

He strongly emphasised the public facilitation, which he said is significant to maintain the dignity of the judicial system. He also overlooked the working conditions of judicial staff.

CJP Afridi admired the availability of basic facilities, including a Women’s Facilitation Centre, clean drinking water, solar energy systems and an e-library, noting that such measures help improve access to justice.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan also met representatives of various bar associations. It was decided that cooperation should be boosted between the bench and the bar for speedy justice.

While visiting the Kasbo Temple and Churio Jabal Durga Mata Temple, CJP Afridi cited the religious freedom and respecting the minority rights as per the Constitution of Pakistan.

Moreover, he also visited the Mithi District Court Complex and directed the officials to keep a record of matters related to public access, cleanliness and functioning of the judiciary.

The latest visit by CJP Afridi to Tharparkar was part of the Law and Justice Commission’s ongoing efforts to improve the judicial system across the country.
