Reports of Tirah Valley being evacuated on Army orders baseless: Ministry of Information and Broadcasting

The federal government has dismissed claims of military orders to evacuate the population in the Tirah Valley as completely baseless and assured the public that no such directive has been issued.

The federal government has completely rejected claims that people in Tirah Valley are being evacuated on army orders. It assured the public that no such instructions have been issued.

According to the government, these claims are malicious and intended to spread fear among the public and damage the reputation of security institutions.

Law enforcement agencies conduct operations only against terrorist elements based on intelligence, and the lives of peaceful civilians are not affected.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Relief, Rehabilitation, and Settlement Department issued a notification on December 26, 2025.

Under this notification, 4 billion rupees were allocated for possible voluntary relocation in some areas of Tirah, Bagh.

The funds are set aside for transport, food supply, and cash assistance. Additionally, for arrangements for temporary accommodation and registration centres, sources say.

The aim is to make sure that the local population remains safe and secure in case of an emergency.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Khyber, this voluntary relocation reflects the views of the local community. And decisions of a representative jirga.

The process has taken seasonal conditions and administrative facilities into account. No camps or forced relocation are involved.

Officials emphasised that linking this initiative to military operations in any media report or statement is false and malicious.

Such claims are made for political or personal gain. And they attempt to damage the reputation of security institutions, which is unethical and misleading.
