Punjab govt releases class 8 datesheet for 2026 annual exams: check exam dates

The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority has released the official date sheet for the Class 8 Annual Examination 2026.

The four-day examination schedule will begin in March. All exams will be held in the morning from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Exam schedule

According to the authority, the exams will start on March 9, 2026 and continue until March 12, 2026.

  • 9 March (Monday): Mathematics
  • 10 March (Tuesday): Urdu
  • 11 March (Wednesday): English
  • 12 March (Thursday): Science

The authority said schools will conduct the remaining Grade 8 subjects themselves under the School-Based Assessment model, using the IBS facility.

It added that the schedule for other subjects, along with the End of Year Term Assessment 2026 for other grades, will be shared separately.

Instructions for students

The authority has issued several instructions for candidates.

Students are not allowed to bring calculators, mobile phones, smart watches or any other electronic devices into the examination centre.

They have been advised to reach the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the paper begins.

Candidates must bring their B-Form and roll number slip to enter the centre. They are also required to carry a blue or black ballpoint pen and a clipboard. Students appearing for the Mathematics exam must bring their own geometry box.

Examination rules

Students must use only the answer booklet provided for both the objective and subjective sections. No extra sheets will be given.

The authority has also stated that candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the paper ends.

Matric annual exams in Punjab

The Punjab boards have released the official datesheet for the Class 10 matric annual examinations 2026, setting out subject-wise schedules for students across the province.

The matriculation exams will begin on March 27, 2026, and continue until April 16, 2026. The timetable applies to both morning and evening groups under a uniform schedule followed by all boards in Punjab.

Exam timings

According to the schedule, morning papers will start at 9:00am. Evening exams will begin at 2:00pm, except on Fridays when papers will start at 2:30pm.
