The public rally falls on Thursday next week, as called by the CM.

‘PTI has never been a part of memogate’: KP CM

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister strongly criticised the federal government’s policies, saying that wrong decisions are creating difficulties in the country.

He added that the KP government has so far spent Rs15 billion on people affected by operations, but the federal government is not giving proper attention to the issue.

Further, he said that during the floods, the federal government did not give a single rupee to the province.

He stated that he is serious about eliminating terrorism and questioned why the policy given by the apex committee is not being implemented.

Further, he added that he was labelled a terrorist and a smuggler, despite the fact that he has always given a shoulder to the coffins of fallen jawans.

He also said that he only speaks what the PTI founder says, that the institutions are also his, and the country is also his.

KP CM maintained that PTI has never been part of any memogate and has never burned pictures of people at public gatherings.

He further stressed that PTI will never become part of any policy that harms the public.

FCC seeks response from KP CM

The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) yesterday directed CM KP Sohail Afridi to respond within 10 days to a petition to prevent the mobilisation or activation of a “release force” for Imran Khan.

A three judge bench, led by FCC Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan, also issued notices to the respondents in the petition.

This includes the KP government, PTI, the federal government, and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The proposed force was announced by CM Afridi in February after a days long protest failed to secure a meeting with the former prime minister (PM) and founder of PTI, Imran Khan.

The move is aimed at continuing the party’s efforts to seek the release of its founder, who has been jailed in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail since August 5, 2023.

‘Release Forces’ is drama’: PTI members

Some PTI workers from KP have criticised the proposed “Release Force” made for securing the freedom of the party’s founder, calling it ineffective and just symbolic.

In a series of video statements circulating online, party workers said they had been trying for the release of the PTI founder for the past two years.

But they expressed frustration over what they described as a lack of clear direction from the leadership.

They also claimed that the party founder had entrusted responsibility for his release to Sohail Afridi.

However, according to them, he has yet to initiate any meaningful public movement.
