Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially launched the Rehmat Card, under which financial assistance will be provided to deserving individuals.
According to a post issued by the Pakistan Muslim League Noon (PMLN), financial support will be extended to 50,000 families through the Rehmat Card scheme.
Under this scheme, widows will receive Rs100,000 and orphaned children will also be given Rs100,000 via JazzCash.
Who can apply for CM Rehmat Card scheme?
For registration, eligible individuals can download the CM Rehmat Card app or contact the helpline at 1077.
Applicants must meet certain criteria widows must have their status mentioned on their national identity card, belong to low-income households not be receiving any other form of government financial aid and must not be government employees or pensioners.
For orphaned children registration of a guardian along with the child’s B-Form is mandatory. Applicants must also be registered in the PSER survey, and their mobile number must be linked to their national identity card.
It is pertinent to mention that last month Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had formally approved the “Rehmat Card” scheme to provide financial protection to widows and orphans across the province.
While chairing a high-level meeting she stated that this segment of society should no longer feel alone as the government will fully support them. She added that helping underprivileged groups is a fundamental responsibility of the government and the initiative aims to strengthen them economically.
PM Shehbaz launches “Apna Ghar” scheme
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally launched the Prime Minister’s “Apna Ghar” Scheme and distributed bank cheques among eligible applicants for loans.
A day earlier, addressing the ceremony, he said the scheme will be implemented across provinces as well as in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. Loans of up to Rs10 million will be provided for house purchase with a repayment period of 20 years.
Applicants will be able to obtain loans of Rs2.5 million, Rs5 million, Rs7.5 million, or Rs10 million. A fixed markup of 5% will be charged for the first 10 years, followed by a normal market based rate for the remaining 10 years.
Monthly instalments will be Rs16,499 for Rs2.5 million, Rs32,997 for Rs5 million, Rs49,497 for Rs7.5 million, and Rs65,996 for Rs10 million loans.
The PM stated that providing housing to citizens is a key responsibility of the state. The total volume of the “Apna Ghar” Scheme is Rs3.2 trillion, with an initial target of financing 50,000 houses.
