CNG shutdown worsens transport woes in KP

The continued closure of CNG stations across the metropolitan Peshawar and numerous other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has increased transportation problems that has added to the hardships of the public.

Gas outlets in areas including Mardan, Abbottabad, and Karak remain shut due to a continuing gas shortfall, difficult routine travel and commercial activity.

According to the residents the situation has been worsened by long gas load-shedding, which has not only halted CNG supply but also affected domestic gas availability.

Households are struggling to cope the problem and public transport operators face growing losses.

Transporters report that the absence of CNG has forced many vehicles off the roads, reducing passenger services and increasing fares.

Breadwinners, particularly those reliant on transport for work, say the crisis has made it increasingly difficult to sustain their livings.

The public has called on the authorities to take vital actions to address the gas scarcity and safeguard uninterrupted supply, warning that prolonged delays could further strain the local economy.

Gas supply remains suspended for domestic consumers

In Peshawar and other districts of the province severe disruptions in natural gas supply have emerged that has affected both domestic and industrial consumers.

According to sources, gas supply is being partly suspended in numerous areas. Whereas CNG stations operating for limited hours are failing to deliver full services.

The situation is particularly serious in Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Karak where gas supply has been deeply affected with the possibility of a full shutdown in some areas.

The urban consumers and Industrialists have urged the government to take instant action to restore gas supply and prevent disruption to businesses and daily life.
