NADRA has made it easier for Pakistani citizens to renew or replace their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).

As per details, NADRA announced that it has set up over 2,000 authorised e-franchise centres across the country.

Here is a step-by-step guide

  1. Locate a Nearby E-Franchise Centre:
    Find an authorised NADRA e-franchise in your neighbourhood or local area. There are now over 2,000 centres nationwide, from an initial 18 pilot locations. You can check NADRA’s official website or helpline (dial 7000) for the nearest one, or ask around in your community.
  2. Gather Required Information:
  • For renewal: Bring your existing CNIC number even if expired.
  • For replacement of a lost card: Provide your CNIC number (if known) or other basic details. No FIR is required.
  • Special note for women: You don’t need your parents’ identity cards. Instead, use your B-Form (child registration certificate), your husband’s CNIC details, and a marriage certificate (Nikah Nama) if applicable.
  1. Visit the E-Franchise Centre:
    Go to the centre during operating hours. The process is designed to be quick and accessible without any tech gadgets.
  2. Provide Your Details and Verify Identity:
  • Share your CNIC number with the staff.
  • They will take your photograph and fingerprints on-site.
  • These will be cross-verified against NADRA’s central database to confirm your identity.
  1. Complete the Process and Pay Fees:
  • Once verified, the staff will process your renewal or replacement request.
  • Pay the applicable fee (standard NADRA rates apply; check current fees on NADRA’s website or at the centre, around PKR 400-1,150.
  • You’ll receive a tracking number or receipt to monitor your application.
  1. Collect Your New CNIC:
  • Your new CNIC will be printed and delivered to the e-franchise centre or mailed to you.
  • Track the status via NADRA’s SMS service (send your tracking ID to 7000) or the Pak-Identity app if you have access to a smartphone.
