Community Market launched in Islamabad to empower young entrepreneurs

To encourage entrepreneurship and promote a business-oriented mindset among young people, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has organised a unique Community Market at Fatima Jinnah Park, near Gandhara Citizen Centre, F-9.

The Community Market aims to provide citizens with direct access to high-quality and innovative products while offering young entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their skills and creativity.

Students from various universities and educational institutions across Islamabad actively participated in the event, presenting a wide range of products and ideas.

The market attracted a large number of visitors, particularly families who showed keen interest in the diverse offerings. Handmade products, arts and crafts, creative designs, modern technology-based projects were displayed, reflecting the talent and innovation of the youth.

The initiative was widely appreciated by the public as it successfully combined entrepreneurship, creativity, and community engagement under the administration of the CDA.

The unique step was taken on the Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

On the occasion, Chief Officer MCI, Dr. Anam Fatima, stated that such events are being organised regularly at various community spaces and locations across Islamabad. She added that the special community market operates from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

On the directions of the Chairman CDA, the Environment Wing distributed environmentally friendly plants among citizens as part of an awareness campaign to promote tree plantation and highlight its importance.

Chairman CDA, Muhammad Ali Randhwa, emphasised that the concept of community markets should be expanded to other parks and public spaces in the federal capital. He noted that this initiative would not only create more opportunities for young people but also provide quality recreational and shopping experiences for the residents of Islamabad.
