United States Central Command (CENTOM) Chief Admiral Charles Bradford said that Pakistan is a trusted counter-terrorism partner.
He noted that the United States’ strong military partnership with Islamabad has yielded tangible results against terrorists.
He said these mutual successes directly reflect the long-standing friendship and shared commitment between the two nations.
“Pakistan, especially, is a critical CT partner that is central to the fight against [Daesh] in the region.”
Pakistan had a major role in the arrest of Daesh operative Mohammad Sharifullah, who was arrested by Pakistan earlier in 2025.
Then-Centcom Chief General Michael Kurilla had said in June 2025: “They [Pakistan] have extradited Jaffar, who was one of the key individuals behind the Abbey Gate bombing.”
The Command oversees operations across a 20-nation area of responsibility (AOR) that includes Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Israel, among others.
CENTCOM is one of eleven unified combatant commands in the Department of Defense. Unlike a traditional military branch (like the Army or Navy) that trains and equips troops, CENTCOM acts as a centralised command center that utilises forces from all branches to conduct operations in its specific territory
