CSS 2026: FPSC eases exam tension

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced a major reform of CSS 2026 competitive examinations.

The commission will only have one mandatory paper each day, starting in February 2026.

This ruling is a significant break with the old system, where the candidate had to attempt two papers per day.

The FPSC launched this new format in order to give the aspirants more time to prepare.

Mental Health Improvement

This reform aims at easing the immense psychological and physical pressure on applicants, which will lead to their good mental health.

The aspirants will no longer have to deal with the three-hour exams, followed by another three-hour exam without a significant break.

The commission feels that this will enable them to perform better and have better management of logistics.

Subsequent policy changes include a provisional commencing date of 4th February 2026 for the written part.

This reform reflects a greater attempt to modernise the way the Pakistani civil service is recruited. It encompasses the changing requirements of young professionals and graduates.

This major decision has been embraced by all of the aspirants as a step towards the right direction.
